KYLE HUBBOLD OF BARROW SENTENCED FOR SEXUAL ACTIVITY WITH 15-YEAR-OLD GIRL
In May 2014, a man from Barrow, Kyle Hubbold, was convicted of a sex offence involving a minor.Hubbold, aged 25 and residing on Rawlinson Street, was found guilty by a jury of engaging in sexual activity with a 15-year-old girl.
The trial took place over three days at Barrow-in-Furness Crown Court.
The teenage girl testified that Hubbold invited her to his flat, where they had sex in 2011.
Hubbold admitted to having had sex with her on one occasion but claimed he believed she was 17 at the time.
However, the girl insisted that she told Hubbold her age was 15 when they first met.
Hubbold was acquitted of a second charge related to having sexual activity with the same girl.
Following the verdict, Judge Paul Batty QC sentenced Hubbold to three years in prison.
Additionally, Hubbold was order to be on the Sex Offenders Register for life.
