RESTAURANT OWNER DENIES RAPE AND AWAITS TRIAL
A Chinese restaurant owner in Brighton is set to face trial after denying allegations of rape during a hearing at Hove Crown Court.Kin Sing Luk, also known as Kin Luk, aged 58 and residing in Selborne Place, Hove, pleaded not guilty during the arraignment on Friday, 12 June.
The formal charge was read out at this hearing.
Luk previously managed the Deep Blue Sea Buffet located on North Street in Brighton, which has since shut down.
The building now operates under new ownership.
The alleged incident occurred at the restaurant around three and a half years ago on Christmas Eve, Saturday, 24 December 2022.
The presiding judge, Christine Henson, ordered Luk to be held on conditional bail.
His trial is scheduled to commence on Monday, 20 September of the following year.
The victim's identity remains protected by law.
