DUNDEE SEX ATTACKER CAUGHT ON WOMEN’S AID FOOTAGE FACES JAIL
Kieron Edwards is awaiting sentence after a jury found him guilty of sexually assaulting a woman near Dudhope Park in Dundee. He was masked and dressed in black during the attack but was caught on Women’s Aid footage running away from the scene without his face covering, which led to his arrest.
He claimed he was trying to help the woman, asserting she tried to steal his wallet, but the jury convicted him of sexual assault on February 12.
Edwards, who is now remanded at HMP Perth, also featured in ring doorbell footage returning to his home in Dens Road shortly after the assault, in different clothing.
The woman had been under the influence of sleeping medication, walking home after a row with her partner, and was approached by Edwards who indecently touched her, pulled at her, put his arm around her chest, and threw her to the ground.
CCTV and mapping evidence linked him to the scene.
Edwards denied hiding in the park after the attack, claiming he was spooked by voices and believed he was being chased.
He stated he was 'looking out for her safety' before walking away.
His past convictions include assault with a stun gun in 2017 and involvement in a pub raid in 2019.
He is to be placed on the sex offenders register following his sentencing.
