KIERAN THOMAS FROM LYDIATE SENTENCED FOR SEXUAL OFFENCES IN NORTHWICH

In a recent case that has shocked the local community, Kieran Thomas, a resident of Blackhurst Road in Lydiate, Merseyside, has been sentenced to serve time in prison after admitting to serious sexual offences involving a minor. The offences occurred in Northwich, and the case has garnered significant attention due to the nature of the crimes and the legal proceedings involved.

Thomas, aged 27, pleaded guilty to two counts of engaging in sexual communications with a girl under the age of 16. These communications took place over a period starting from November 22, 2019, and continued until January 18 of the following year. The court heard that these interactions were of a sexual nature, raising concerns about the safety and well-being of the young girl involved.

In addition to these charges, Thomas also admitted to creating an indecent image of the girl, which was recorded on March 1 of the previous year. The court was informed that the girl was under 16 at the time the image was made. For this particular offence, Thomas received a concurrent sentence of three months, which runs alongside his primary sentence.

Thomas first appeared before Magistrates on August 26 of the previous year, where he chose not to enter a plea. The case was subsequently transferred to Chester Crown Court, where he was sentenced on Monday, January 25. The judge handed down a sentence of 15 months in prison, reflecting the gravity of the offences.

Furthermore, as part of his sentence, Thomas will be required to sign the sex offenders register for the next ten years. He will also be subject to a sexual harm prevention order for the same duration, aimed at restricting his activities and monitoring his conduct to prevent any future offences. The case underscores the ongoing efforts of law enforcement and judicial authorities to combat and deter sexual crimes against minors, especially in local communities like Lydiate and Northwich.
