INVERKEITHING CHILD SEX OFFENDER KEIRAN HOWIE SENTENCED TO 4 YEARS IN PRISON

A disturbing case involving a known offender from Inverkeithing has culminated in a conviction for a series of heinous sexual offenses, including the assault of a young child.

Keiran Howie, a resident of Inverkeithing, was found guilty at Edinburgh High Court after a detailed trial that laid bare his predatory and malicious behavior. The jury's verdict confirmed his guilt on two counts of lewd, indecent, and libidinous practices, alongside one charge of sexual assault and one count of sexual communication.

Despite these convictions, Howie was acquitted of two other charges, and another charge was recorded as not proven, reflecting the complexities and nuances of the case.

Following his conviction, Howie has been designated a registered sex offender and will be added to the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) list, which aims to restrict his access to children and other vulnerable individuals.

However, the sentencing phase has been postponed, with a new hearing scheduled for December 6, 2023, at Dundee Sheriff Court. The court has ordered comprehensive background checks and a risk assessment report to determine the appropriate length of his imprisonment.

They emphasized the importance of justice, stating: "This conviction sends a clear message – there is no place in our society for predators like Howie. We will continue to fight for justice for survivors."
