KIERAN DORIAN, DANGEROUS SEX OFFENDER, SENTENCED IN DUNDEE
A highly dangerous sex offender has been sentenced to 160 days in jail after secretly engaging in a prohibited relationship with an unaware woman.The 23-year-old woman was deceived by a plumber's mate who was performing work at her flat, not knowing about Kieran Dorian’s sinister background.
Dorian is on the sex offenders register for life and has a history as a serial stalker, having targeted at least six women over several years.
The incident involved Dorian returning to a neighbor’s flat for work after their initial meeting and engaging her in innocent conversation while she sat outside enjoying the sunshine.
At Dundee Sheriff Court, he admitted to breaching a Sexual Offences Prevention Order (SOPO) imposed earlier this year in March.
The order prohibited him from forming any relationship with a woman without informing his supervising officer.
Fiscal depute Gavin Letford explained, "She is 23, lives alone, and contacted her letting agent about an issue with her taps.
A plumber attended, accompanied by the accused." He added that Dorian would occasionally put his head inside to ask about the woman’s work and would chat casually.
On March 17, she saw him again while sitting outside her flat, as he was carrying out work in another flat and noticed her, prompting further conversation.
Dorian told her he would like to come down and have a beer with her, gave her his number, and introduced himself as Kieran.
They exchanged texts on various topics, and on March 19, he asked if she wanted to do something, which she agreed to.
On March 27, the woman contacted police to report an incident that had occurred when Dorian was at her home.
Police launched an investigation, seized his phone, and examined screenshots of their messages.
Despite initially denying meeting her without approval, Dorian eventually admitted to meeting her in Dundee.
Defending solicitor Jim Laverty stated that the initial encounters had been innocent and that Dorian’s main offence was failing to notify his supervising officer of the contact in a timely manner.
He explained, “He was talking to the woman while carrying gear in and out of the property and exchanging texts about music preferences.
He should have informed his officer about his communication with her.
Dorian has been in custody since March 29, and this experience has served as a wake-up call.” Sheriff Gregor Murray highlighted Dorian’s longstanding criminal record, saying, "Your previous convictions show that since 2016, you’ve been subject to multiple court orders.
You knew from five years ago that you were under review.
The SOPO, granted four years ago, had very strict restrictions.
It recognizes that you are a dangerous individual, and any relationship must be openly disclosed, particularly to the lady involved, so she knows your background." Dorian’s prior convictions include a 2019 three-year sentence for harassing and sending obscene messages to a social worker monitoring his behaviour, as well as stalking another woman for over three and a half years through online and offline harassment.
These marked his fifth and sixth stalking victims over seven years.
In 2017, he narrowly avoided jail after admitting to stalking four women, receiving a community payback order and supervision.
Sheriff Alastair Brown commented then, “Your behaviour was entirely self-centred.

Kieran Dorian, 23, also admitted stalking another woman for more than three-and-a-half years after becoming obsessed with her and harassing her online and in person.
Dorian dodged jail in 2017 after he admitted stalking four separate women – with a community payback order imposed placing him under supervision.
That brought him into contact with a social worker who was trying to address his offending behaviour.
But instead Dorian targeted her with a string of vile messages over the course of a weekend.
Dundee Sheriff Court heard the woman, who cannot be named to protect her identity, had avoided giving Dorian her personal phone number because of the type of offences he had previously been convicted of.
But fiscal depute Eilidh Robertson told the court that an administrator accidentally handed him that number – prompting the string of messages.
She said: “When she heard the content she said she had a ‘sinking feeling’.” Miss Robertson said Dorian had described her as “banging, smoking hot” and that he was “in love with her”.
He then moved on to make crude sexual references in the messages.
Sheriff Alastair Brown jailed Dorian for three years and imposed a ten-year non harassment order banning him from contacting his victims.
Dorian was also placed on the sex offenders register indefinitely.
—————————————————————————————————— NEW OFFENCE —————————————————————————————————— A convicted stalker was back behind bars less than 24 hours after his release, following an alcohol-fuelled outburst at police in Angus.
Forfar Sheriff Court heard that Kieran Dorian, 30, had been freed from custody on January 15 and placed in temporary accommodation in Carnoustie.
By the following evening, officers were dealing with him again.
Prosecutors said police were called to the town’s High Street around 9.57pm on January 16 after reports of a man behaving erratically inside a shop.
Officers traced Dorian nearby and found him clearly intoxicated, with slurred speech and unpredictable behaviour.
During a search, Dorian directed a stream of abuse at officers, including sectarian insults and explicit threats.
Despite being handcuffed and warned that body-worn cameras were recording, he continued shouting further abuse and making violent remarks.
Dorian appeared from custody and admitted threatening or abusive behaviour, aggravated by prejudice, committed while he was already subject to five bail orders.
His solicitor told the court Dorian believed officers had stopped him because they thought he was breaching a curfew that was no longer in force.
He claimed the comments were made in frustration after fearing he was about to be returned to prison, adding that his client had simply been returning from a shop after buying a vape.
Sheriff Derek Reekie deferred sentencing until March, when Dorian is due to be dealt with for stalking an Angus salon worker.
The court noted that an unexpired sentence remains available for imposition.
