KIERAN COOPER SENTENCED IN BOURNEMOUTH FOR VIOLENT ASSAULTS AND ATTEMPTED RAPE

Kieran Cooper, a 28-year-old man originally from St Leonards-on-Sea in East Sussex, has been handed down a significant prison sentence of six and a half years following a series of violent assaults and an attempted sexual assault that took place in Bournemouth.

The court proceedings revealed that during the months of July and August of the previous year, Cooper engaged in a disturbing pattern of violence against a woman in Bournemouth. The victim endured multiple brutal attacks, including being headbutted three times, punched repeatedly, and subjected to an attempted rape. These heinous acts culminated in Cooper's conviction on several serious charges.

At Bournemouth Crown Court, Cooper was found guilty of attempted rape, assault by beating, and two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm. Additionally, he admitted to criminal damage, further highlighting the extent of his misconduct. The court's decision reflects the gravity of his actions and the impact they had on the victim.

Detective Constable Robin Mackay, a representative from Bournemouth CID, publicly commended the bravery of the woman who came forward to support the case. He emphasized, "Kieran Cooper subjected his victim to physical and sexual abuse, and she has shown immense courage in coming forward to report these offences and supporting the investigation and court process."

Detective Mackay also expressed his appreciation for the victim's bravery, stating, "I want to thank her for the bravery she has shown and hope it has inspired other victims to come forward. We will do all we can to support victims of violent and sexual offences and investigate all reports thoroughly so perpetrators such as Cooper are brought to justice."

As part of his sentencing, Cooper was also issued a ten-year restraining order, which prohibits him from making any contact with the victim. The police continue to encourage victims of similar crimes to come forward, assuring them that their reports will be taken seriously and investigated thoroughly to ensure justice is served.
