KEVIN LESLIE'S DOMESTIC ABUSE AND STALKING TERROR IN DUNDEE

Kevin Leslie, a 37-year-old resident of Strathmartine Road in Dundee, appeared before Dundee Sheriff Court to face serious allegations of domestic abuse and harassment spanning nearly four years, from July 2019 to May 2023. The court was told that Leslie engaged in a pattern of controlling, aggressive, and threatening behavior directed at a woman close to him, with incidents occurring at various locations within the city.

According to court records, Leslie's conduct included repeated arguments with the woman, during which he displayed jealous and controlling tendencies. He used derogatory language to demean her, further escalating the emotional abuse. Physical violence was also reported, with Leslie allegedly pushing her multiple times, shouting at her loudly, and even placing his hand over her mouth in a manner that restricted her breathing, causing her significant distress.

Leslie's harassment extended beyond verbal and physical abuse. He persistently contacted the woman through phone calls, text messages, and emails, often attending her residence uninvited. His invasive behavior included seizing her by the hair and grabbing her phone, during which he copied and deleted its contents, further violating her privacy. Witnesses and court evidence indicated that Leslie's aggression was not limited to verbal threats but also involved physical assaults, such as pulling her hair, grabbing her body, and pinning her against a door in a display of intimidation.

In addition to these acts, Leslie engaged in threatening behavior by repeatedly messaging the woman, including threats to take his own life, which added to her emotional turmoil. He also placed an Apple AirTag inside the boot of her vehicle to track her movements secretly. When he later attended her home, he attempted to remove the tracking device, demonstrating a clear intent to monitor her constantly. His aggressive approach continued with frequent banging on her door, shouting, swearing, and issuing threats to kill her.

Further disturbing evidence revealed that Leslie left a gift and a note in her car, an act that was interpreted as a form of intimidation and control. Leslie acknowledged that his actions caused injury to the woman and posed a danger to her life, admitting the harmful impact of his behavior during the court proceedings.

In addition to the domestic abuse charges, Leslie pleaded guilty to breaching bail conditions by repeatedly attempting to contact the woman through various media channels between March and May 2022, despite being ordered to leave her alone. He also admitted to possessing cocaine at a property on Ancrum Drive on March 8, 2022. However, his plea of not guilty to an assault charge involving former Dundee FC and Dundee United footballer Lewis Toshney at the same location on that day was accepted by the court.

Leslie's actions have been described as a pattern of coercive and threatening behavior that has severely impacted the victim's safety and well-being, prompting serious concern from the authorities and the community in Dundee.
