KEVIN KEITH FROM MALVERN SENTENCED FOR HORRIFIC RAPE IN FARNHAM CAR PARK

In a case that has shocked the local community, Kevin Keith, a 26-year-old man residing in Malvern, has been sentenced to nine years in prison for a series of heinous sexual assaults committed in Farnham, Surrey. The crimes took place on New Year’s Day 2014, in an underground car park following a gathering at a friend’s house. Keith was found guilty of raping a 17-year-old girl three times during this incident, which was characterized by its brutality and the disturbing manner in which it was carried out.

Keith’s residence near Tanhouse Lane in Malvern was identified as his known location, and he was apprehended and brought to trial after the victim bravely testified in court. The trial revealed the extent of the trauma inflicted upon her, with evidence showing that Keith’s actions included pushing her to the ground multiple times, rendering her unconscious, and assaulting her in an isolated setting, which added to the severity of the case.

Judge Andrew Lockhart presided over the case at Worcester Crown Court and delivered a stern sentence, emphasizing the profound physical and psychological harm caused by Keith. The judge also imposed an indefinite restraining order to prevent Keith from having any contact with his victim in the future, and he was placed on the Sex Offenders’ Register for life. The judge described Keith’s conduct as “disturbing,” highlighting the prolonged and malicious nature of the assaults.

While acknowledging the gravity of the crimes, the defense attorney, Jason Aris, requested leniency, citing Keith’s young age and difficult personal circumstances. Aris pointed out that Keith’s mother was suffering from terminal lung cancer, which he suggested might have contributed to his troubled background and recent return to Malvern. Despite these mitigating factors, the court maintained a firm stance, sentencing Keith to nine years for rape and actual bodily harm, with additional concurrent sentences for the other two rapes and an 18-month sentence for the assault.

Investigating officer PC Tamzin Ede commented on the case, stating, “The sentence reflects the severity of the offences committed by this dangerous man, who lured his victim back to where he was sleeping rough and then took advantage of her in the worst possible way. Her bravery in coming forward is commendable and has been crucial in bringing this case to justice.” The case underscores the importance of community vigilance and the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to protect vulnerable individuals from predatory behavior.
