KEVIN BALOG FROM BRADFORD SENTENCED TO 10 YEARS FOR RAPE IN WAKEFIELD
Kevin Balog, a 22-year-old resident of Todd Terrace in Bradford, has been sentenced to a decade behind bars after being convicted of raping a 14-year-old girl in Wakefield.The conviction was handed down following a trial at Leeds Crown Court, where the evidence against him was thoroughly examined and presented.
In addition to Balog's sentencing, an 18-year-old male was found guilty of inciting or causing sexual activity with a minor.
Due to his age at the time of the incident, he cannot be publicly identified.
The court imposed a three-year youth rehabilitation order on him, emphasizing the importance of rehabilitative measures for juvenile offenders.
The incident, as detailed by West Yorkshire Police, involved the victim and the younger co-defendant arranging to meet at Balog’s address in Wakefield.
During this meeting, the victim was subjected to sexual assault by Balog.
The police investigation uncovered a series of messages exchanged between Balog and the younger male, which explicitly arranged for Balog to engage in sexual activity with the underage girl.
Detective Constable Khi Smith expressed her sentiments regarding the case, stating, "The victim has been betrayed by someone she trusted and subjected to a horrendous ordeal by Balog.
It is evident from the messages exchanged that neither male considered the impact on the victim.
Their refusal to admit guilt has only prolonged her suffering and subjected her to further trauma during the trial process.
No punishment can undo the loss of innocence and sense of security that these individuals have stolen from her, but I hope that the conclusion of this case offers her some measure of closure and helps her to begin healing and moving forward with her life."
