DUNDEE OFFENDER JAILED FOR ABDUCTING AND RAPING WOMEN
A man named Kenneth Williamson from Dundee has been convicted and sentenced to nine years in prison for serious sexual offenses. He was found guilty of abducting and sexually assaulting two women, both of whom were working as prostitutes.
Williamson's first victim, a 35-year-old woman, testified that he pulled her into his van on January 5, 2016, after suggesting she was looking for sexual service and offering to pay £40.
She described being driven to an unspecified field outside Dundee, where Williamson subjected her to a violent and humiliating sexual attack, during which she feared for her life and believed she was going to be killed.
The second victim, who has since died at age 36, had been working in Leith, Edinburgh, and got into Williamson's car, believing he was a client.
She was taken to Levenhall Links in Musselburgh where he raped her, telling her not to be violent, and afterward expressed intent to kill her by showing her a shovel.
She asked about her safety, and Williamson laughed, discussing religious topics and not making much sense.
Williamson admitted to having previously used prostitutes, stating he was ashamed and regretted his actions, and that he had planned to have sex with the women with specific agreements, but no condoms were involved in the second incident.
During the trial, Williamson denied forcing the second woman to do anything.
The judge described his crimes as predatory and abusive, emphasizing the vulnerability of his victims.
Williamson, a married man and father of three, was assessed as posing a medium risk.
Despite his denial of violence, the court found him guilty of serious sexual assault and kidnapping.
He has no prior violent offenses but was nonetheless sentenced to nine years imprisonment.
The case highlights the dangerous and predatory nature of Williamson's crimes against vulnerable women.
