HELENSBURGH MAN ADMITS TO SENDING INDECENT IMAGES AND MESSAGES TO TEENAGER
A HELENSBURGH man has admitted messaging a schoolgirl for indecent images over a period of months.Kenneth Russell pleaded guilty to trying to get the youngster to send images of herself and another girl for the purposes of obtaining sexual gratification.
Authorities have been unable to work out the identity of the girl but she said she was aged 14, according to charges revealed at Dumbarton Sheriff Court this week.
The 52-year-old first offender also admitted making indecent comments to her and sending her links to sexual material.
And he sent her images of his naked private parts.
This happened on various occasions between July 11 and November 9, 2023, from his home, listed in court papers as Red Burn Wynd.
Russell further pleaded guilty to taking or permitting to take or making indecent photos or pseudo-photos of children between December 15, 2022 and October 6, 2023.
And he admitted possession of images between December 15, 2022 and November 22, 2023.
Police and the courts hold that possession of indecent images allows them to be made in the first place.
No details were read out in court about the number of images or the category of seriousness during the April 15 hearing.
Defence solicitor Kenny McGowan said his client had asked to resolve the case as early as December 14, 2023.
Sheriff James Mulgrew deferred sentence for reports to be prepared.
The court will consider a potential sexual harm prevention order at sentencing.
He was put on the sex offenders register in the interim.
