HELENSBURGH MAN SENTENCED FOR SEXUAL ASSAULTS OF FOUR WOMEN
A MAN convicted of sexually assaulting four women in public has been added to the sex offenders register.Clinton Steenkamp was previously found guilty of two attacks in Helensburgh Leisure Centre and two in The Clyde Bar.
The 53-year-old, on various occasions between August 1, 2023 and July 14, 2024, touched a woman's thigh without her consent at the leisure centre.
Between October 1, 2023 and July 13, 2024, he sexually assaulted a second woman by touching her buttocks with his crotch, touching her midriff, and repeatedly uttering remarks about her buttocks without her consent.
There were further incidents at The Clyde Bar on July 13.
On two occasions, he sexually assaulted a third woman, touching her back, her buttocks over her clothing, putting his hands on her hips and touching her stomach without her consent.
And on various occasions that day at the West Clyde Street pub, he sexually assaulted the fourth woman and repeatedly touched her on the body and grabbed her over her clothing without her consent.
Steenkamp, of Glasgow Street, Helensburgh, returned to Dumbarton Sheriff Court on December 23 for sentencing.
Sheriff Lorna Anderson put him under social work supervision for nine months.
He will also be on the sex offenders register for that time.
