DUNDEE RAPIST KENNETH NICOLL JAILED FOR FOUR YEARS AFTER VICTIM'S CHILLING ORDEAL
Kenneth Nicoll, a resident of Dundee, delivered a chilling threat to his victim during an assault, stating: “You are going to make my dreams come true – or I will do murder.” The attack occurred at a Dundee flat on September 27 when Nicoll, aged 58, pounced on a woman he knew. The frightened woman eventually escaped, running home barefoot to her mother’s residence.
Nicoll was convicted of rape and received a four-year prison sentence from the High Court in Glasgow after admitting guilt.
Court records indicated that Nicoll and the woman had an acquaintance prior to the incident.
Concern was expressed over Nicoll’s strange behavior, which included him taking and then returning her underwear.
On the day of the attack, the woman had been at bingo and met her partner before returning to the flat where Nicoll was.
The prosecutor, Sheena Fraser, stated that Nicoll appeared angry and questioned whether she had had sex, then made the threatening remark and assaulted her.
He forced her onto the couch, pressed her head down, and removed her lower clothing.
Due to Nicoll’s larger size and strength, the woman was unable to resist.
He mockingly told her, “You always wanted this to happen.” After he stopped, the victim tried to cover herself, but Nicoll questioned her reasons, suggesting their encounter was unfinished.
The woman took a chance to flee when Nicoll let her get a glass of water and was later found to be hysterical and frightened.
Police apprehended Nicoll when he was seen arriving at his home.
His defense team stated he pleaded guilty to prevent further distress to the victim.
Lady Stacey imposed a four-year sentence, reducing the more severe six-year term due to his plea of guilty.
