A 44-year-old man from Windermere in Cumbria, Kenneth Moncrieff, was sentenced for a Category A crime.
He was given a ten-month jail term but the sentence was suspended for two years, allowing him to avoid immediate incarceration if he adhered to the terms set by the court.
This arrangement provides Moncrieff with a chance to stay out of prison on the condition of good behaviour during the suspension period.
