KENNETH KEEN FROM BRIDGNORTH SENTENCED FOR VIOLENT AND SEXUAL OFFENSES INVOLVING TEENAGE GIRLS
In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Bridgnorth, Kenneth Keen, a 20-year-old man residing on Holly Bush Road, has been sentenced to two and a half years in prison for a series of heinous crimes involving two underage teenage girls.The incidents, which spanned from May 2013 to August 2014, revealed a pattern of controlling, violent, and sexually abusive behavior that culminated in criminal charges and a court conviction.
According to the prosecution, Mr.
Jonathan Turner, Keen first became involved with the two girls when he was just 17 years old.
Over the course of their interactions, Keen’s behavior grew increasingly aggressive and manipulative.
He demanded sex from the girls multiple times each day, reportedly six to seven times, and when his demands were not met or he was refused, he resorted to violence.
The court heard that Keen assaulted one of the girls by cutting her arm with a knife, a brutal act that underscored the severity of his violence.
One particularly alarming incident involved Keen placing a carrier bag over the head of one of the girls for approximately 15 seconds, during which he exerted his full body weight on top of her.
This act of suffocation demonstrated a disturbing level of control and physical abuse.
In addition to these violent acts, Keen also engaged in the distribution of explicit material.
He sent a sexually explicit video of one of the girls, who cannot be named for legal reasons, to her parent, further violating her privacy and trust.
During a previous court hearing, Keen admitted to multiple charges, including sexual activity with a child, assault, harassment, and the distribution of an indecent image of a child.
His defense, presented by Miss Samantha Forsyth, highlighted that Keen has Asperger’s Syndrome and is on the autistic spectrum, which may have influenced his behavior.
Nonetheless, the court found sufficient evidence to convict him of the serious offenses, leading to his imprisonment.
The case has brought to light the dangers of grooming and abuse within communities, and the sentencing serves as a stark reminder of the importance of protecting vulnerable minors from predatory individuals like Keen.
The community of Bridgnorth, and indeed the wider region, will be watching closely as justice is served in this troubling case.
