KEITH MAN AVOIDS JAIL AFTER SICKENING CHILD ABUSE IMAGES AND VIDEOS
Kenneth Hird, a 29-year-old individual from Keith, was found with over 18 hours of disturbing footage and numerous sinister images involving children as young as two, an adult, and a dog.The footage was uploaded to a cloud storage service, leading to police discovery.
During a search of his home on Alexandra Road, officers seized electronics containing 398 indecent images, 21 of which were categorized as extreme (Category A).
There were also 171 videos totaling 18 hours and 33 minutes, with 80 listed as Category A.
Hird had shared three videos via a Kik messaging account.
The content included children aged from two to 15, sometimes featuring adults and animals.
Despite admitting to multiple charges, Hird avoided jail.
Sheriff David Harvie criticized his minimization of the offences and lack of insight but sentenced him to three years of social work supervision and placement on the sex offenders register, requiring participation in a more intensive offending behavior program called “Moving Forward Making Changes.” The sheriff expressed skepticism about Hird’s remorse but felt early guilt admission and reported progress justified not imprisoning him immediately, with a review scheduled in three months.
