KEITH AND PAULA NICHOLLS FROM GODMANCHESTER SENTENCED FOR SEXUAL ABUSE OF TEENAGE GIRL

In a case that has shocked the community of Godmanchester, a couple has been sentenced to prison for their involvement in the sexual abuse of a teenage girl. Keith Nicholls, aged 54, received a five-year prison term, while his wife, Paula Nicholls, aged 40, was sentenced to three years behind bars. The sentencing took place at Peterborough Crown Court on Friday, December 21, following a detailed trial and investigation.

Keith Nicholls was convicted of engaging in sexual activity with a minor after a thorough trial process. His wife, Paula, was found guilty of indecently assaulting the same girl, who, due to legal restrictions, cannot be publicly identified. Both individuals are residents of Godmanchester, a town that has been deeply affected by this disturbing case.

The offences in question occurred over a span of two years, from 2003 to 2005, when the victim was between the ages of 13 and 15. The court heard that the abuse was carried out after the couple invited the girl into their home, exploiting her trust and vulnerability. The heinous acts only came to light when the victim confided in her relatives, revealing the extent of the abuse she had endured.

In addition to the convictions, both Keith and Paula Nicholls were subjected to a 10-year Sexual Offences Prevention Order, which aims to restrict their contact with minors and prevent any further offences. Detective Constable Amanda Pickering, who led the investigation into the case, expressed her condemnation of the offenders’ actions. She stated, “These two offenders preyed on the girl’s vulnerability, putting her through a horrific ordeal for their own sexual gratification. The victim showed great bravery in not only coming forward but also giving evidence at court to ensure justice was done.”
