KEIRAN STEWART FROM HAVERHILL BUSTED WITH OVER 28,000 CHILD PORN IMAGES
In a disturbing case that has shocked the local community of Haverhill, Keiran Stewart, a 26-year-old man, faced serious legal repercussions after police uncovered a vast collection of illegal images on his personal computers.The authorities discovered more than 28,000 indecent photographs depicting children, a find that led to Stewart’s immediate suspension from his role as a carer at an elderly care facility.
Stewart’s arrest was triggered when he sent an explicit image to an individual he had met through a gay chatroom.
The recipient, concerned about the nature of the material, reported the incident to the police, prompting a detailed investigation.
During questioning, Stewart admitted to becoming “addicted” to viewing indecent images of young boys, revealing the extent of his disturbing behavior.
The court proceedings, held at Ipswich Crown Court, revealed that Stewart committed multiple offences over a period spanning from January 2008 to February of the current year.
He pleaded guilty to one count of distributing indecent images, one count of possessing such images, and 16 counts of making indecent images.
The charges paint a troubling picture of ongoing illegal activity involving the exploitation of minors.
Judge David Goodin, presiding over the case, sentenced Stewart to a community order that includes five years of supervision by the probation service.
Additionally, Stewart was mandated to participate in a rehabilitation program specifically designed for sex offenders, aiming to address his behavior and prevent future offenses.
As part of his sentence, he is also required to sign the sex offenders’ register for five years.
Furthermore, the judge imposed restrictions on Stewart’s access to the internet, banning him from possessing any equipment capable of connecting to the web for a period of three years.
He was also prohibited from being in the company of anyone under the age of 16 unless a parent or responsible adult is present, reflecting the serious concern for safeguarding minors and preventing any potential reoffending.
