NORTH WALES WOMEN FACE ANIMAL CRUELTY CHARGES IN COURT
A case involving two women from North Wales, Joy Veronica Edwards and Phillipa Edwards, has been adjourned to clarify their partial guilty pleas related to animal cruelty charges.The incident concerns multiple animals including horses, cats, and dogs.
Joy Edwards, 61, of Cherrywood, Gwespyr, admitted to causing unnecessary suffering to a Palomino mare, Binka, by failing to provide adequate veterinary care for mouth and fetlock problems.
She also admitted to causing suffering to a Collie called Ben due to neglect of veterinary needs for poor body condition and skin ulceration.
Additionally, she failed to protect four cats from ear mites and diet neglect.
Phillipa Edwards, 36, of the same address, admitted to failing to provide a suitable environment for a Terrier-type dog named Raven and causing suffering to a horse named Duckie.
The case was heard at North East Wales Magistrates' Court in Mold, where it was decided to adjourn proceedings until October 24 for further discussions with the RSPCA regarding plea agreements and animal custody.
Both women currently face charges related to animal cruelty and neglect, with some charges already admitted, and the case remains ongoing as the authorities seek the appropriate legal and animal welfare outcomes.
