JOSHUA FLETCHER SENTENCED TO 13 YEARS FOR RAPE IN NUNEATON

Joshua Fletcher, an 18-year-old resident of Milby Drive, Nuneaton, has been found guilty of heinous sexual offenses involving two women. Throughout the lengthy legal proceedings, Fletcher maintained his innocence, denying all allegations against him. The charges brought against him included one count of sexual assault and five counts of rape, reflecting the severity and multiple nature of his crimes.

His trial, which lasted for eight days at Warwick Crown Court in February, culminated in a unanimous verdict of guilt by the jury. The court's decision marked a significant moment in the pursuit of justice for the victims, who demonstrated remarkable bravery during the proceedings.

On April 15, Fletcher was formally sentenced to a prison term of 13 years. In addition to his custodial sentence, he received a five-year license condition, which will impose strict monitoring and restrictions upon his release. Furthermore, Fletcher will be required to register as a sex offender for the remainder of his life, ensuring ongoing oversight and public safety.

Detective Constable Dolman expressed satisfaction with the outcome, stating, "We’re incredibly happy that Fletcher has been held to account. In interview he told lie after lie to try to save himself. But thanks to the bravery of the two women, we were able to build a case strong enough that the jury saw straight through him. I hope this sends out a message to others who have been subjected to sexual abuse: we will listen, we will support and we will help."
