JOSEPH FAUL FROM CHISWICK JAILED FOR MASSIVE PORN SEIZURE IN WEST LONDON
In a significant crackdown on illegal and obscene material, Joseph Faul, a 48-year-old resident of Beaulieu Place in Chiswick, West London, has been sentenced to prison after authorities uncovered an extensive collection of indecent content stored within his home. The investigation into Faul's activities was initiated following a major operation by the UK Border Agency, which resulted in one of the largest seizures of such material in Britain’s history. It all began when UKBA officials working at Coventry International Parcel Hub intercepted a shipment containing multiple film spools. These spools were found to contain highly disturbing images, including indecent photographs of children and explicit depictions of bestiality. The discovery prompted further investigation, leading to a detailed search of Faul’s residence in Chiswick on August 27, 2010.
During the search, officers from the UK Border Agency’s criminal and financial investigation team uncovered an astonishing amount of illegal material. The flat, which consisted of two bedrooms, was found to be filled with tens of thousands of items of pornography, along with numerous computers and other electronic equipment used for creating and copying disks. The sheer volume of material was so overwhelming that it required a seven-and-a-half-tonne lorry to transport all the evidence for examination.
Following the discovery, Faul was charged with multiple offenses. In December, he pleaded guilty to 19 counts, which included the making and possession of indecent images of children, as well as possession of extreme pornography. Additional charges related to the importation of obscene material were left on file, indicating ongoing investigations into other potential violations.
Faul was subsequently brought before Isleworth Crown Court, where he received a 12-month prison sentence. Additionally, he was ordered to register as a sex offender for a period of ten years, a measure designed to monitor and restrict his activities following his release from custody.
Jim Jarvie, deputy director of the UK Border Agency’s criminal and financial investigation team, commented on the case, stating, “This is without doubt the biggest seizure of its kind that we have been involved in. Faul was in possession of almost every type of extreme pornography. When our officers raided his flat, they found obscene material hidden in every single room. It took a seven-and-a-half-tonne lorry to take it all away.”
He further emphasized the ongoing efforts of border security personnel, saying, “As this case shows, our officers work around the clock at ports and airports – and behind the scenes at postal sorting offices – to keep indecent material, drugs, counterfeit goods, and firearms out of the UK.”
