JOSEFINO QUIBOLO FROM EXMOUTH AND OADBY JAILED FOR SEXUAL ASSAULT ON TEENAGE GIRL
In May 2019, a disturbing incident unfolded involving Josefino Quiboloy, a man with ties to both Exmouth and Oadby, who was convicted of sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl. The assault occurred after Quiboloy, then managing a Domino's Pizza outlet in Exmouth, invited the young girl to his home, where a series of events led to a serious criminal offense.According to court proceedings, Quiboloy, aged 37 and residing on Windham Drive in Oadby, Leicestershire, took advantage of the girl after they had been drinking together. The girl, who was underage, had consumed a significant amount of vodka, which caused her to become sick and lose full control of her faculties. She was found to be drifting in and out of consciousness when the assault took place, which made her vulnerable to the defendant's actions.
She recounted that Quiboloy knelt beside her on the floor of his downstairs toilet, where she had collapsed. She then experienced the distressing moment when she felt him kissing her breasts and pushing something into her private parts. The girl was unable to resist or fully comprehend what was happening due to her intoxicated state. Her top was pulled up, her bra was missing, and her trousers and leggings had been lowered, exposing her underwear. She remembered waking up to find Quiboloy on top of her, touching her and kissing her breasts, while she was still in and out of consciousness.
Later that night, Quiboloy called a taxi to take her home. The following day, she confided in her parents about the incident, after much internal struggle and hesitation. The girl’s account was supported by evidence presented in court, which detailed her recollections of the assault and her state of intoxication at the time.
Quiboloy denied the allegations, claiming that he had gone upstairs to check on a child and returned to find the girl on the toilet floor. He insisted that he did not touch her sexually, and that he helped her clean herself up before arranging for her to get a taxi home. He expressed shock and disbelief at the accusations, maintaining his innocence throughout the trial.
During the trial at Exeter Crown Court, the jury found Quiboloy guilty of sexual assault and assault by penetration. The court heard that he had previously worked as a manager at Domino’s Pizza in Exmouth, but had since been transferred to Torquay and later to Leicestershire, where he held the position of area manager.
Judge Mr. Jonathan Barnes sentenced Quiboloy to five years in prison. Additionally, he ordered him to sign the sex offenders register for life, emphasizing the severity of the crime and the importance of monitoring individuals convicted of such offenses. The case highlights the dangers of exploiting alcohol to facilitate sexual crimes and underscores the importance of safeguarding vulnerable young people from predatory behavior.
