MAN ATTEMPTED TO INCITE A CHILD TO ENGAGE IN SEXUAL ACTIVITY
Josh Bridle, aged 34 and residing at Green Close, Exmouth, appeared in Exeter Crown Court where he admitted guilt to charges related to attempting to incite a child to engage in sexual activity, as well as attempting to engage in sexual conduct with a minor.
The court was informed that Bridle, who previously worked as a roofing manager, contacted a schoolgirl via social media and sent her sexually explicit messages with the aim of initiating a sexual relationship.
He also transmitted images and videos of his genitals and was seen masturbating in the material he shared.
Additionally, he encouraged the girl to perform the same acts.
It was revealed that the girl was actually an undercover police officer.
During the course of the investigation, authorities uncovered evidence indicating Bridle’s attempts at grooming other young girls.
The judge sentenced him to four years in prison, with a requirement to serve half of the sentence.
A sexual harm prevention order was imposed for 15 years, and Bridle was ordered to register as a sex offender for a decade.
