JORDAN DAVID REYNOLDS-WALSH BRUTAL BURGLAR FROM SHEFFIELD STRIKES IN BARNSEY
A young father from Sheffield, Jordan David Reynolds-Walsh, has been sentenced to prison after committing a series of burglaries in the Goldthorpe area of Barnsley, during which he stole valuable items including two rare Sphynx cats and a sentimental family ring. His criminal activities spanned over the summer months and caused significant distress to his victims.Reynolds-Walsh, aged 21, targeted two separate properties in the Goldthorpe neighborhood. The first break-in occurred on July 22 at a residence on Cooperation Street. During this incident, he ransacked the home, causing extensive damage, and made off with a family ring that held sentimental value, having been passed down through generations. In addition to the ring, he stole several high-value items such as televisions, gaming consoles, decorative weapons, food supplies, power tools, and keys. The damage to the front door was substantial, requiring repairs estimated at around £1,000.
Approximately two weeks later, on the morning of August 11, a woman living on the same street left her home. When she returned around noon the following day, she was informed by police that her property had been broken into. Upon inspection, she discovered that her two pet Sphynx cats had been taken, along with white goods and additional power tools. The theft of her pets was particularly distressing, as they were likely cherished companions.
The following day, the woman contacted the police again, reporting that she had seen two men carrying large bags from a house on Cooperative Street to the Carr House flats. This sighting was crucial in linking Reynolds-Walsh to the crimes. The police investigation confirmed his involvement, and he subsequently admitted to two counts of burglary.
Reynolds-Walsh’s actions not only resulted in financial loss but also emotional trauma for the victims, especially given the sentimental value of some items stolen. His sentencing in Sheffield Crown Court resulted in a prison term of two years and two months, reflecting the seriousness of his offenses and the impact on the community.
