JONATHON BAKER SENTENCED IN WOLVERHAMPTON FOR RAPE AND SEXUAL ASSAULT

A man from Wolverhampton, identified as Jonathon Baker, has been handed a lengthy prison sentence after being convicted of heinous sexual offenses involving two women. The sentencing took place at Wolverhampton Crown Court on Thursday, 22nd February, where Baker, aged 46, was sentenced to a total of 22 years behind bars.

According to court proceedings, Baker had established relationships with the two women over a period spanning from 2013 to 2018. During this time, his conduct progressively became more violent and coercive. It was revealed that initially, Baker had gained their trust by making them feel exceptionally valued, often convincing them that they were the most important women in his life. However, as the relationship progressed, his behavior deteriorated, culminating in serious criminal acts.

The court heard disturbing details about Baker’s actions, including the administration of a drug to one of the women before subjecting her to sexual assault. This act of drugging was a critical element in the case, highlighting the predatory nature of his crimes. The victims, demonstrating remarkable bravery, came forward to report their experiences to the police, which ultimately led to Baker’s arrest in October 2018.

During police interviews, Baker initially attempted to deny any wrongdoing, claiming that all interactions had been consensual. However, he later changed his account, accusing the women of fabricating their allegations against him. When questioned about the drugging incident, Baker was observed to laugh at the suggestion, a reaction that further underscored his lack of remorse.
