LONGWOOD MAN ACCUSED OF ASSAULT AND DAMAGING PARTNER'S PROPERTY
A man grabbed his partner by the hair and stamped on her toaster, a court heard.The alleged attack occurred at the victim's residence on Leymoor Road, in Longwood, on January 30.
The court was informed that Jonathan Wilkinson, aged 23, and the victim had recently separated before the incident.
Prosecutor Natalie Chapman stated that the couple was involved in an argument when Wilkinson entered the kitchen.
He confronted the victim aggressively, demanding to know who she was speaking to on the phone.
Miss Chapman added that Wilkinson struck her in the face and then grabbed her hair, pulling it while shouting at her.
Subsequently, he stomped on her toaster, damaging the electrical appliance.
Wilkinson, who has no fixed address, has admitted to damaging the electrical equipment but pleaded not guilty to assault by beating.
His trial is scheduled for April 17 at Huddersfield court.
In the meantime, he has been prohibited from contacting the victim or attending her address.
