JONATHAN THOMSON FROM WADEBRIDGE SENTENCED FOR CHILD SEX OFFENCES IN CORNWALL

In July 2016, Jonathan Thomson, a man from Wadebridge, faced significant legal repercussions after admitting to a series of serious sexual offences involving children in Cornwall dating back to around 1990. Thomson, who was 54 years old at the time, was already serving a prison sentence for possessing indecent images. However, his legal troubles deepened when he pleaded guilty to additional charges that included gross indecency and inciting minors to engage in sexual acts.

The court heard that Thomson-Glover had engaged in grooming children remotely, exploiting the trust placed in him as an educator. His criminal activities also involved secretly filming pupils, further violating the safety and innocence of the young victims. These actions revealed a disturbing pattern of predatory behavior that spanned years and exploited his position of authority.

As a result of his guilty pleas, the court sentenced Thomson-Glover to six months’ imprisonment for each of the new charges. These sentences were ordered to run concurrently with his existing sentence, meaning he would serve the combined time simultaneously.
