A juvenile girl from England was targeted for grooming through Snapchat by an individual in Dundee, who instructed her to refer to him as “daddy”.
John Reilly avoided being sent to prison despite engaging in this misconduct over a span of five days.
The 22-year-old deceived the girl by claiming he was only slightly older than her, after she revealed her age as just 13.
During the hearing at Dundee Sheriff Court, it was revealed that Reilly sent explicit messages to the girl and also shared an indecent image of himself.
He further urged her to send sexual photographs and videos.
These offences occurred at an address on Balgarthno Terrace from March 23 to March 28, 2024.
Reilly admitted to the charges on indictment and was sentenced following a social work report assessment.
Sheriff Paul Ralph ordered him to complete 200 hours of unpaid community service and placed him under supervision for three years.
It is anticipated that Reilly will remain on the sex offenders register for the same duration.
