DONCASTER CHILD RAPIST JOHN LOHAN JAILED FOR 20 YEARS
A man responsible for sexually abusing two young girls has received a prison sentence after causing them to lose their childhoods.John Lohan, 56, was convicted by Sheffield Crown Court on multiple counts, including two counts of rape, six counts of sexual assault on a child under 13, two counts of indecent assault, two counts of indecency with a minor, and one count of forcing a child to witness a sexual act.
He subjected the girls to lengthy periods of abuse, with one victim enduring his misuse over several years.
Lohan from Warrenne Close, Doncaster, denied the charges but was found guilty.
He was sentenced to 20 years in prison and was subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order that bans him from unsupervised contact with anyone under 16 indefinitely.
Det Con Janine Innes, who led the investigation, stated: 'The abuse suffered by these victims was utterly dreadful and has had enduring effects on their lives.
This imprisonment will not undo their suffering or replace the years of innocence lost.' She added: 'Lohan robbed them of their childhoods, and as he begins his long sentence, I hope it provides some measure of closure for them, given their strength in facing this ordeal.' The case involved a lengthy, complex probe into serious sexual offenses, with the victims demonstrating remarkable courage in coming forward and supporting the judiciary.
Lohan never admitted guilt and showed no remorse, which meant the victims had to testify about their abuse in court.
Their brave testimonies exposed the horrifying extent of his crimes, and their resilience throughout the process is commendable.
