JOHN LLYWARCH SENTENCED TO LIFE IN PRISON FOR CHILD ABUSE IN STAFFORD
In June 2001, John Llywarch, a convicted paedophile from Weston Rhyn near Oswestry, Shropshire, was sentenced to life imprisonment for his sexual offenses against children.
Llywarch, who was 58 at the time, pleaded guilty to 15 counts of indecent assault and two charges of raping boys aged nine.
An additional 12 similar offences were kept on the court record.
During the sentencing at Stafford Crown Court, Judge John Shand described Llywarch as a danger to children.
He stated, 'You were still preying on children when these matters came to light in the middle last year.
That clearly indicates to me, without the necessity of medical or other reports, that over the years you have presented and now continue to present a very substantial risk of serious harm to children.
Put bluntly, you are a dangerous paedophile.' The judge also noted the severe impact on the victims, mentioning that one boy was left mute out of misery.
Llywarch was ordered to serve at least nine years before being eligible for parole and was placed on the Sex Offenders’ Register for life.
