SCOTTISH SCHOOLBOY JAILED FOR ATTACKING TWO YOUNG GIRLS ON THE SAME DAY
A SCHOOLBOY rape fiend who attacked girls aged 12 and 13 on the same day can today be unmasked.John Halliburton could not be identified when he was caged for five years last month because he was still 17.
He played for a youth team in the city and was once pictured with then Dundee United manager Tam Courts holding a signed footie strip.
The sick school pupil sexually assaulted the 12-year-old and raped the other 13-year-old.
Halliburton pulled down the girls’ clothing in the attacks, which were branded “wicked” by a judge.
He denied wrongdoing but was found guilty by a jury.
Passing sentence, at the High Court in Edinburgh, Judge Michael O’Grady KC said: “These assaults were cowardly, humiliating and cruel.
These were wicked acts.” First offender Halliburton’s lawyer Jim Stephenson told the court that the teenager had suffered bad childhood experiences.
Mr Stephenson added: “He has witnessed domestic abuse.
He is a vulnerable person.
He has shown a lack of maturity.” Judge O’Grady ordered that Halliburton be supervised by the authorities for three years following his release from custody.
He also ordered that Halliburton be placed on the sex offenders register for life.
The judge stated: “The victims here are the girls — no one should lose sight of that.”
