JOHN HALL FROM FFYNNONGROYW SENTENCED FOR SEX OFFENSES IN CAERNARFON AND MOULD
In December 2001, John Hall, a young man from Ffynnongroyw, was sentenced at Caernarfon Crown Court to serve nine months in youth detention. Additionally, he was placed on the sex offenders' register for a period of ten years, marking a significant legal action against him.Earlier, in November 2001, Hall had appeared in Mold Crown Court to face charges related to a disturbing incident involving a 10-year-old girl. He admitted to indecently assaulting the young schoolgirl, a serious offense that drew considerable attention. The original charge of attempted rape was dropped during the proceedings, allowing the court to focus solely on the lesser charge of indecent assault.
John Frederick Hall, aged 18 at the time, was residing at Wesley House, Main Road, Ffynnongroyw, Flintshire. His trial was scheduled for the July incident, but on the day of the hearing, the prosecution accepted his guilty plea to the reduced charge. It was noted that Hall was considered to have a mental age below his chronological age, which was taken into account during the proceedings.
Following his plea, Hall was granted bail under strict conditions. He was ordered to reside at an address in Rhyl, refrain from approaching the young girl involved, and avoid entering the area where she lived. These conditions aimed to prevent any further contact or distress.
Judge John Rogers QC addressed the court, emphasizing the gravity of the case. He stated that the matter was serious enough to warrant consideration of custody, but the case was adjourned to allow for psychological assessments and pre-sentence reports. The judge scheduled the sentencing for November 30 at Caernarfon Crown Court, where a more comprehensive judgment would be delivered based on the reports and the circumstances of the case.
