JOHN GIBSON FROM ALLOA SENTENCED FOR SEXUAL ABUSE OF THREE WOMEN IN ALLOA

In a serious case that has shocked the community of Alloa, John Gibson, a 37-year-old resident of Maree Court, has been handed a prison sentence after being found guilty of sexually abusing three women at his home. The incidents, which took place over a span of a few months in 2022, led to a court hearing at Alloa Sheriff Court on Thursday, May 26.

Gibson faced three separate charges related to sexual misconduct. The first incident occurred on March 28, 2022, when he was accused of sexually assaulting a woman by running his hands over her body and covering her vagina, an act that caused significant distress to the victim. The second incident took place on May 22, 2022, when Gibson allegedly attempted to sexually assault another woman by touching her on the thigh and hip, crossing boundaries that caused alarm and fear. On the same day, he was also charged with assaulting a third woman by touching her breast, further compounding the severity of his actions.

Throughout the court proceedings, Gibson’s defense solicitor, James Savage, maintained that his client was innocent of the charges. Despite this, Sheriff Neil Bowie, after a thorough trial, found Gibson guilty of all three offenses. In his remarks, Sheriff Bowie highlighted the troubling nature of the crimes, noting that the victims were young women, many of whom were significantly younger than Gibson, and that they were understandably afraid to testify against him.

As a result of the convictions, John Gibson was sentenced to serve eight months in prison. Additionally, he will be required to register as a sex offender for a period of ten years, a measure intended to protect the community and monitor his conduct moving forward.
