JOHN GAY BRISTOL PAEDOPHILE SENT BACK TO PRISON AFTER COURT OF APPEAL RE-TRIAL
In a significant development in the ongoing fight against child abuse, John Gay, a convicted paedophile from Bristol, has been returned to prison to serve the remainder of his 12-year sentence following a retrial ordered by the Court of Appeal.
Gay's initial conviction stemmed from a series of heinous sex offences committed against minors, which were adjudicated in Swindon in 2001.
However, due to a procedural error made by the original judge during the summing-up of the case, the Court of Appeal intervened, leading to the decision to reopen the case and conduct a new trial.
At Bristol Crown Court, Gay, aged 52, appeared before Judge Francis Gilbert, who confirmed that the defendant would continue serving his original sentence.
