JOHN FAGAN'S SHAMEFUL CRIMES IN WORKSOP AND BEYOND REVEALED

The conviction comes after Fagan, aged 65 and formerly residing on Watson Road in Worksop, was already serving a two-year prison sentence for financial crimes, specifically embezzling a substantial sum of £58,000 from a family-run business in Blyth.

The recent court proceedings took place at Nottingham Crown Court on Wednesday, February 25th, where Fagan was sentenced to an additional 12 years behind bars for the sexual offence. The financial misconduct involved the embezzlement of £58,000 from Northern Garden Supplies, a company owned by June Richardson in Blyth. The crime was uncovered during an investigation into the company’s finances, revealing that numerous payments had been made either directly to Fagan or to accounts linked to him. These payments, totaling the significant sum of £58,000, were made over a period of time, raising questions about the trust placed in Fagan despite his criminal past.

During the court case held last June, it was disclosed that June Richardson had initially decided to give Fagan a second chance by employing him as a handyman. This decision was made despite Fagan’s previous sexual offences, which had not been publicly disclosed at the time. The situation worsened when Fagan was entrusted with more responsibilities, including managing the company’s finances and overseeing the swimming pool side of the business after Mr. Richardson’s death. The Richardson family expressed their relief and sense of justice being served following the sentencing. Sally Richardson, June Richardson’s daughter, spoke openly about her family’s feelings, stating, “Turns out as well as being a fraudster, this dangerous man is also a paedophile. It’s frightening because we have known him for a long time.
