JOHN EVANS FROM BISHOP AUCKLAND FACES SEVERE SENTENCE FOR CHILD SEX OFFENSES AND INDECENT IMAGE DISTRIBUTION
In a case that has sent shockwaves through the Bishop Auckland community, John Evans, a resident of Toft Hill near Bishop Auckland, has admitted to engaging in sexual activities with a girl under the age of 13.The charges against Evans also include the creation, possession, and distribution of a vast collection of indecent images of children, amounting to thousands of photographs and videos.
The legal proceedings revealed that Evans pleaded guilty to a total of 21 charges, which span a period from 2013 to 2017.
These charges encompass sexual activity with a minor, as well as the manufacturing, possession, and dissemination of indecent images.
The images involved are classified into different categories, with nearly 3,000 being classified as Class A, approximately 7,000 as Class B, and around 9,000 as Class C, highlighting the extensive nature of his offenses.
The case was heard before Judge Stephen Ashurst, who did not mince words regarding the severity of the crimes.
