A convicted sex offender, John Bliss, has been sentenced to 15 years in prison following his guilty verdict on multiple serious charges involving a minor child. John Bliss, aged 43, of Greenmeadow in Gwent, appeared before Chelmsford Crown Court on Thursday, March 16. The court's decision came after a trial during which Bliss was found guilty of seven distinct offences. The investigation into Bliss's crimes initially commenced in 2020 following an outreach from the victim, who was still a child at the time. Essex Police were informed by the young girl herself about the multiple grave sexual assaults she endured in Harlow. This disclosure prompted a thorough investigation spearheaded by Essex Police’s child abuse investigation team. Their efforts culminated in Bliss's arrest, subsequent interviews, and prosecution.

She commented: “Bliss’ actions on this vulnerable victim were evil. Even after his arrest, he refused to admit to his crimes, which led to false accusations against the victim and her family.
