JIBRIEL GULED FROM FULHAM SENTENCED FOR CRUELTY TO PUPPY BIBI IN LATEST ANIMAL ABUSE CASE
Jibriel Guled, a man born around 1994 and residing on Barclay Close, Cassidy Road in Fulham SW6, has been convicted of a heinous act of animal cruelty that resulted in the death of a four-month-old Staffordshire bull terrier named Bibi. The incident, which shocked the local community and animal welfare advocates alike, led to Guled’s imprisonment and a lifetime ban on owning animals. The case came to light after authorities received a distressing emergency call on June 23, 2018. The RSPCA and police officers responded promptly to the address, where they found Bibi already deceased. The dog’s body was carefully collected by RSPCA Inspector Mike Beaman, who noted that Bibi had been placed in a wicker basket and wrapped in blankets, indicating an attempt to conceal or preserve her body.
Inspector Beaman described the case as profoundly tragic, emphasizing the young age of the dog and the unnecessary suffering she endured. He recounted that the police and RSPCA team arrived at the property following an emotional 999 call, which alleged that Guled had physically abused his pet. The inspector stated, “This was an extremely sad case involving a young dog whose life was cut short far too soon. Myself and the police attended the property in June last year after the police received an emotional 999 call from someone claiming Guled had kicked his dog.”
Further investigation revealed that Bibi had suffered from severe physical trauma inflicted over a period of months. Guled claimed in court that the injuries were caused when the bed inside the property collapsed on top of her, leading to her death. However, a post-mortem examination painted a more disturbing picture. The examination uncovered three previous injuries consistent with blunt force trauma, which had occurred between May and June 2018, prior to the final incident that resulted in her death.
Following the court proceedings, Guled was sentenced to 26 weeks in prison. Additionally, he was ordered to pay £1,000 in costs and was permanently banned from owning or keeping any animals. The case has once again highlighted the importance of animal welfare and the need for strict enforcement of laws against cruelty. The community and animal rights organizations continue to advocate for stronger protections to prevent such tragedies from recurring in Fulham and beyond.
