JETU MIAN FROM SOUTH SHIELDS CAUGHT WITH INDECENT PICTURES AND DRUGS
In October 2016, a disturbing case emerged involving Jetu Miah, a 28-year-old man residing on Wallington Grove in South Shields.The incident began when Miah engaged in inappropriate online behavior towards a teenage girl, sending her multiple messages via Facebook.
These messages initially appeared harmless, but the situation escalated when Miah used the FaceTime video messaging service to send a highly explicit video of himself.
According to the prosecution, Paul Anderson, Miah’s actions took a serious turn when he transmitted a video showing him naked from the waist down, with his genitals clearly visible.
The victim, who was at college with friends at the time, responded by ending the call.
However, Miah reconnected the call and repeated the explicit act, which was witnessed by a college lecturer.
The lecturer, recognizing the seriousness of the incident, promptly contacted the police to report the matter.
Further investigation into Miah’s phone revealed more troubling evidence.
Officers discovered messages that indicated involvement in the supply of cannabis, a Class B drug.
This discovery linked Miah not only to the indecent video incident but also to drug dealing activities.
During legal proceedings, Miah admitted to sending an obscene message through a public communications network and acknowledged his involvement in the supply of cannabis.
In his defense, Michelle Stoneley argued that Miah did not know the girl personally, claiming he had never met her and had no recollection of sending the explicit video.
She also emphasized that Miah did not profit financially from his alleged drug dealing activities.
The magistrates decided to adjourn the sentencing to allow for a probation report to be prepared.
Miah was granted bail and is scheduled to appear in court again on November 8 to face the charges stemming from these serious allegations.
