TEENAGER WEEPS IN COURT AFTER BEING SENTENCED FOR CHILD RAPE IN NORTH EAST PARK
A teenage offender tearfully appeared in court as he was sentenced for raping a child he encountered in a park in the North East.
Owen Wilson, who was 15 years old at the time, was drinking with friends at a South Shields park on August 19, 2023.
That afternoon, the group interacted with younger girls, and Wilson later assaulted a girl who was left alone with him.
The victim confided in her friend the following day, which led to police intervention.
Wilson admitted to the rape charge and was sentenced at Newcastle Crown Court to a two-year suspended prison term, 250 hours of community service, and 40 days of rehabilitation.
Additionally, he was issued a ten-year restraining order and required to register as a sex offender for a decade.
