MAN JAILED FOR 'CALLOUS' ATTACK ON HUSBAND
Jethro Cray-Morris, aged 45 and residing on Lennox Street, was convicted of causing grievous bodily harm with intent at Bournemouth Crown Court on Tuesday, 10 December 2024.He received a prison sentence of 21 years during a sentencing hearing held at the same court on Friday, 17 January 2025.
On the morning of Sunday, 11 February 2024, at approximately 11:09 am, Dorset Police were alerted by ambulance services about a man, believed to be in his 60s, who had suffered a severe head injury and required urgent medical attention at a property on Lennox Street.
Police officers and paramedics responded to the scene, where they found the defendant’s estranged husband unconscious and suffering from multiple injuries.
The injuries included a traumatic brain injury, fractured ribs and clavicle, swollen black eyes, and extensive bruising.
Cray-Morris gave inconsistent statements regarding how the victim was injured.
Initially, he claimed that the victim had returned home already hurt after a night out, but later suggested that he discovered the victim hurt inside the flat.
Cray-Morris was arrested as a suspect in connection with the injuries.
An investigation of the residence showed signs of recent cleaning, with evidence of blood in the sink and shower area, and blood-stained clothing found inside the washing machine.
Mobile phone analysis revealed that Cray-Morris had taken a photo of the victim’s injuries at around 9 am on the day of the incident.
Additionally, a call attempt was made to a carpet cleaning service at 10:18 am about 50 minutes before emergency services were contacted.
