MAN JAILED FOR DOMESTIC ABUSE OFFENCES
A resident of Leeds has received a prison sentence following three violations of a restraining order.Jermaine Richards, aged 39 and from Bexley Terrace, pleaded guilty to three counts of breaching the restraining order as well as making threats involving a bladed weapon in a public setting.
During proceedings on Wednesday, 4 February at Leeds Crown Court, he was sentenced to serve three years and two months in prison.
Temporary Detective Inspector George Gill of Leeds District Domestic Abuse Team said: “We are absolutely committed as a force to protecting victims of domestic abuse and holding offenders to account.
“There are specially trained officers in Leeds who can provide support to those who suffer domestic abuse, we also work in partnership with a wide range of voluntary agencies.
“I hope this sentence sends a clear message to anyone who breaches a court order, that this will not be tolerated and we will continue to get justice for victims."
