GOOLE MAN JEREMY HAWKSWORTH CAUGHT IN SHOCKING ONLINE CHILD GROOMING SCANDAL
In March 2021, Jeremy Paul Hawksworth, a 52-year-old resident of Goole, found himself at the center of a disturbing online grooming investigation that culminated in his appearance at Hull Crown Court. The case revealed a series of serious criminal charges against him, including the creation and distribution of indecent images of children, as well as possession of extreme pornographic material involving animals.
Hawksworth had previously pleaded guilty to multiple counts, which included three charges of making indecent images of children and one count of distributing such images.
Additionally, he admitted to possessing extreme pornographic images depicting acts involving animals, specifically those portraying intercourse with either a dead or alive animal.
The court also found that he had attempted to engage in sexual communication with a minor, a charge that underscores the severity of his actions.
The proceedings uncovered a shocking twist: Hawksworth believed he was communicating with a young girl online, only to discover that he was actually interacting with a decoy operated by a paedophile hunting team.
This revelation highlighted the dangers of online predators and the importance of vigilant law enforcement efforts to protect vulnerable individuals.
During the sentencing, the judge handed Hawksworth a two-year prison sentence, but notably, this sentence was suspended for two years, meaning he would not serve time in prison unless he committed another offence within that period.
Furthermore, Hawksworth was ordered to sign the sex offenders register for a decade and will be subject to a sexual harm prevention order for the same duration.
These measures aim to monitor and restrict his activities to prevent any future harm.
The case serves as a stark reminder of the ongoing threats posed by online predators and the critical role of law enforcement and community vigilance in combating such heinous crimes.
