HULL CHILD SEX OFFENDER JAILED FOR TWO YEARS AFTER ONLINE GROOMING
Callum Hall, aged 25, from Goole, was convicted of multiple serious offenses involving child abuse and exploitation.He engaged in online communication with a decoy posing as a 14-year-old girl, where he sent explicit images and videos, and discussed meeting up in a hotel in Liverpool.
The campaigners from 'parents against predators' confronted him at his home after the police tipped off the authorities following online abuse reports.
Hall admitted to attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child, making indecent images of children (including videos of very young girls, with the youngest being four), possessing prohibited images and extreme pornography involving animals, and other related offenses.
Police found a total of 204 images of children on his devices, categorized as 41 in the most serious Category A, with videos, and others in Category B and C.
Hall had also searched online for terms like 'Lolita' and 'paedo'.
He claimed to have been under the influence of cocaine at the time and could not remember much about his social media activity.
He expressed remorse, stating he was glad his behavior was discovered and that he would not meet any more children.
He had no previous convictions.
Hall pleaded guilty in Hull Crown Court to all charges and was sentenced to two years in prison, with a five-year sexual harm prevention order and a requirement to register as a sex offender for 10 years.
His attorney highlighted that he accepted his issues early and was aware of his wrongdoing, having stopped taking drugs and been frank with police.
Judge John Thackray KC emphasized the profound and lifelong consequences for victims and stated that only an immediate custodial sentence would suffice.
