DONCASTER OFFENDER JEAN BUTOYI SENTENCED FOR RAPE AND ROBBERY
A 27-year-old man named Jean Butoyi has been convicted of multiple serious offenses in Doncaster during 2014.
He was found guilty of two counts of rape, four counts of robbery, and one count of theft after a trial at Sheffield Crown Court.
The court heard that in May and June 2014, Butoyi lured two victims to an area off Thorne Road, Town Fields, where he threatened them with violence and raped them.
One of the women was threatened with a knife, and after the assault, Butoyi stole her handbag's contents before fleeing.
The crime was described as truly horrific, with officers calling Butoyi a ‘violent and dangerous sexual offender’ who is considered a ‘violent predator’.
He was sentenced to 19 years in prison at Hull Crown Court and is set to be deported upon release.
Investigating officers emphasized the bravery of the victims and expressed satisfaction that justice was served, with statements condemning Butoyi’s violent behavior and refusal to accept responsibility.
