FOOTBALL FAN FACES BANNING ORDER FOR MOONING AT DUNDEE SUPPORTERS
A Celtic supporter named Jay Jackson has been involved in an incident where he dropped his trousers to 'moon' at opposition fans during a match against Dundee at Dens Park. This act of public indecency was carried out in full view of approximately 3,000 spectators, including children, shortly after the start of the second half on November 7, 2021.
Jackson, 23, was captured on CCTV exposing his bare buttocks in the Bob Shankly Stand while he was with other Celtic supporters.
The security staff and police were alerted; CCTV footage confirmed his actions.
Jackson was arrested at 1.57pm and later admitted to police that he thought the act was funny and that he was very drunk at the time.
His solicitor indicated that Jackson was extremely embarrassed and ashamed of his behaviour, which he explained was influenced by alcohol.
Jackson is from Bo’ness and has previous convictions for public order offences.
The sheriff deferred sentencing for further reports and noted that a football banning order might be considered when he is sentenced next month, as the incident was regarded as an act of public indecency involving a minor detail of his behaviour during a football match at Dens Park.
