JASON WILSON SENTENCED FOR SEXUAL ASSAULTS IN SALE
In a case that has shocked the community of Sale, a local man named Jason Wilson has been convicted and sentenced for multiple sexual offenses involving two teenage girls.The incidents occurred over a span of several years, from 2006 to 2010, during which Wilson exploited the trust of the victims at a residence in Sale.
Jason George Wilson, aged 40 and residing on Catterick Avenue, pleaded guilty to three counts of engaging in sexual activity with a minor and two counts of sexual assault.
His actions came to light after the victims, who were between the ages of 16 and 19 at the time, found the courage to report the abuse, which had taken place on various occasions at the same location.
The case was brought before Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court, where Wilson was sentenced in June 2010.
The court handed down a prison term of 20 months, reflecting the severity of his crimes.
Additionally, Wilson was ordered to register as a sex offender for a period of ten years, a measure intended to monitor and restrict his activities following his release from custody.
Detective Constable Nicola Graham, a representative of the public protection investigation unit, publicly commended the victims for their bravery in coming forward.
She emphasized the gravity of Wilson’s misconduct, noting that he was twice the age of the victims and had exploited their trust in a supposedly safe environment for his own sexual gratification.
Graham further stated, “Wilson has now rightly been sentenced for his terrible crimes and will have to live with both what he has done and the stigma of being a sex offender for the rest of his life.” The case serves as a stark reminder of the importance of safeguarding vulnerable individuals and the justice that can be achieved through diligent investigation and court proceedings.
