TIBSHELF BROTHERS CONVICTED OF MURDER AND ROBBERY
Jason Wilsher and his brother Amos Wilsher were found guilty of several serious offenses, including the murder of Arthur Gumbley. The trial established that both men were responsible for ending the life of the elderly man, who passed away three weeks after sustaining broken ribs in a violent assault at his residence in Little Aston, Staffordshire, in November 2017.
It was also revealed that Jason Wilsher had previously been convicted of Arthur Gumbley's murder in 2019 but was granted a retrial despite DNA evidence tying him to the crime scene.
In addition to the murder charges, the brothers were convicted of conspiring to commit robbery and intentionally wounding a third individual, Dennis Taylor, in his home in Creswell, near Bolsover, Derbyshire.
Mr.
Taylor, aged 82, was attacked during the same criminal incident, resulting in a broken nose, broken fingers, and the theft of cash, watches, and jewelry.
Detective Chief Inspector Dan Ison of Staffordshire Police stated: 'Although no sentence can bring back Arthur and Josephine, I hope these convictions will offer some closure by confirming that justice has been served.' The verdict underscores the brothers' involvement in violent and theft-related crimes, leading to appropriate sentencing.
The case has received extensive media coverage, highlighting the pursuit of justice for the victims and raising awareness within the community.
