JASON SIMPSON FROM RUSKINGTON SENTENCED FOR SEXUAL ABUSE OF UNDERAGE GIRL IN LINCOLNSHIRE

In October 2017, a disturbing case unfolded involving Jason Simpson, a 36-year-old man from Ruskington, who was convicted of a series of heinous sexual offenses against a young girl. The girl was only 14 when the abuse began, while Simpson was approaching his early thirties. The court was informed that Simpson's misconduct extended beyond sexual acts; he also took explicit photographs of the girl and displayed bizarre, controlling behaviors towards her. For instance, he would treat her like a child, reading her fairy tales such as Cinderella, and even asked her to wear more glamorous clothing to appeal to his preferences.

As the relationship continued, the girl became pregnant, and by the age of 15 and a half, she had received several positive pregnancy tests. However, she experienced heavy bleeding, and it was later confirmed that she was pregnant and had suffered a miscarriage. These events underscored the severity of Simpson’s abuse and the profound impact on the young girl’s life.

When Simpson was arrested and brought in for questioning, he chose to remain silent, refusing to comment on the allegations against him. The victim, who was present in court to witness the sentencing, delivered a heartfelt victim impact statement, which was read aloud by the prosecutor. In her statement, she expressed the lasting trauma inflicted upon her, asking, “Do you know what it is like when you cannot escape the nightmare you have put me through?”

In a court ruling that reflected the gravity of his crimes, Simpson pleaded guilty to nine sexual offenses, including engaging in sexual activity with a child, causing a child to participate in sexual acts, and possessing indecent images of a child. The judge, Judge John Pini QC, sentenced Simpson to nine and a half years in prison.
